A recent Gallup Poll survey on employee engagement in the workplace produced some rather disturbing results.

 Amy Chulik, a Careerbuilder writer, recently posted a strong article called "Gen Y's impact in the workplace."  It highlighed some great insights into how this new generation is entering the workforce and their impact.

"Do not doubt that this generation will change the face of the American workplace as their parents did."  "In the next five to 10 years, the number of Gen Yers in the workforce will increase dramatically."

According to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 75% of employers' health care costs and productivity losses are related to employee lifestyle choices. And a $1 investment in wellness programs saves $3 in health care costs, according to the Wellness Council of America.

So here is the list of the Top 20 Wellness initiatives to consider for your employees.  It just seems like good business or the right thing to do, when it pays for itself and helps employees.  

So many Executives and Managers today literally do nothing to foster teamwork or build camaraderie. They simply go to work every day, they do not care about creating an "Attitude of Gratitude" or increasing the "Happiness Factor".  They do worry about performance, productivity and profitability, but are perplexed as to what to do about it.  They fail to realize that they are operating under a concept of "doing what they've always done,"  and in doing so, "they're getting what they've always got."
